Seyyid Mahmud Hayrani Türbesi
20.0 km · The Seyyid Mahmud Hayrani Tomb, located in Akşehir, Afyonkarahisar, was built in the mid-13th century. Seyyid Mahmud Hayrani is known as an important Sufi of the Anatolian Seljuk period and as the teacher of Nasreddin Hoca. The tomb is situated at the foot of Sultan Mountain, within the former Akşehir Castle. It contains the graves of Seyyid Mahmud Hayrani, his brother Necmeddin Ahmed, and his grandson Seyyid Ali. The original wooden door wing of the tomb is exhibited in the Akşehir Museum. Within walking distance are the Western Front Headquarters Museum (750 m), Nasreddin Hoca Archaeology and Ethnography Museum (385 m), and Yağlı Dede Tomb (700 m).
