About Ortaçağ Kalesi
The Medieval Castle, located in the center of Karaman, is believed to have been built in the late 11th and early 12th centuries. Consisting of three concentric walls, the inner castle on the mound is the part that has survived to the present day. The inner castle, bearing traces from the Bronze Age, Roman, and Byzantine periods, was repaired by the Ottomans in 1465. The castle features nine towers, four of which are round and five are rectangular.
