The high walls of the castle wind around the rock on which it stands. Its multi-story tower has survived to the present day in a remarkably good condition. Among the other structures in the castle, the four-cornered building on the east side of the castle draws attention. This structure is estimated to be a church. A part of the cistern in the castle and fragments of jars known as kvevri have survived to the present day. The restored Artvin Castle is referred to by the public as “Livane Castle”.
