16.8 km · Surp Asdvadzadzin Church is an Armenian church located in the Bayındır district of İzmir province, Turkey. Built in 1857, the church was restored in 2010 with the support of the İzmir Governorship and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, and was transferred to the Bayındır municipality to be made into a cultural center. The structure, which was first used as a cinema during the Republican era, began to be used as a warehouse after the restoration in 2010 when the district's sports hall underwent renovation. Bayındır mayor Ufuk Sesli said about the building: “This church is a structure built during the years when the Armenian community was in İzmir, and its walls were protected with restoration works.”
