About Sütçüler Sığla Ormanı Doğa Koruma Alanı
Sütçüler Sığla Forest Nature Reserve is located in Kargı village, Bucak district, Burdur, covering an area of 88.5 hectares. This area is home to some of the most distinguished and isolated populations of the Anatolian sweetgum tree (Liquidambar orientalis), a rare species globally. Declared a Nature Reserve on July 27, 1987, access to the area is restricted to scientific and educational purposes with special permits. Besides sweetgum trees, the forest features various plant species like red pine, oak, alder, and plane trees, and is inhabited by animals such as mountain goats, squirrels, reptiles, and crabs.
