The transitional climate it is in, its being the only high mountain in the nearby region, and the structure of the mountain extending in an east-west direction on the Biga Peninsula, fragmented by canyons opened by rivers, the most well-known of which is Şahinderesi Canyon, have created conditions that allow the sea and mountain climates to mix.
