Yavuz Sultan Selim Türbesi
503 m · Yavuz Sultan Selim Tomb is a historic site located in the courtyard of the Yavuz Sultan Selim Mosque in Fatih, Istanbul. It was commissioned by Suleiman the Magnificent in 1520 for his father Yavuz Sultan Selim and built by architect Mimar Acem Ali. The tomb features an octagonal plan and a ribbed dome, reflecting classical Ottoman architectural style. It has a three-bay portico at the entrance facade with 16th-century tile panels. Inside, the sarcophagus of Yavuz Sultan Selim is displayed, along with his kaftan, which is said to have been splattered with mud from his teacher's horse during his return from the Egypt campaign. The tomb is 360 meters from the Fener tram stop.
