Merzifonlu Kara Mustafa Paşa Medresesi
42 m · The Merzifonlu Kara Mustafa Paşa Medresesi in Fatih district is part of a complex started by Ottoman Grand Vizier Merzifonlu Kara Mustafa Paşa before 1683, during the reign of Sultan Mehmed IV. The madrasa, along with a classroom-mosque, primary school, public fountain, shops, and a graveyard, forms part of the complex. Its construction was halted in 1683 due to the unsuccessful Second Siege of Vienna and was completed in 1690 by his son Ali Bey and architect Hamdi. Today, it houses the Istanbul Conquest Society and the Yahya Kemal Institute. It is located 117 meters from the Beyazıt - Kapalı Çarşı tram stop.
