Klazomenai Akropolis
1.4 km · Klazomenai Acropolis is an ancient historic site located in Urla, İzmir. Klazomenai was one of the twelve major Ionian cities and is considered one of the oldest known long-term settlements in the Aegean coastal region, with human settlement dating back to around 4000 BCE. The Acropolis is believed to have been on top of the Khyton settlement, which was re-established on the mainland in the late 5th century BCE. Klazomenai is also home to the oldest olive oil-producing workshop discovered in Anatolia, which was operated 2,600 years ago. The site is within walking distance of Klazomenai (510 m) and close to the Urla İskele ferry stop (721 m).
