Museums in Kırklareli Merkez

Kırklareli Museum is a national museum in Kırklareli, Turkey, exhibiting natural history specimens, ethnographical items related to the region's history of cultural life, and archaeological artifacts found in and around the city. The director of the museum is Derya Balkan.

Ali Rıza Efendi Culture House, located in Kırklareli Merkez, was built in the early 19th century as a residence for a Greek family, later housing Bulgarian and Turkish families. Purchased by Kırklareli Municipality in 2012 and opened as an ethnography museum on December 20, 2017, this two-story wooden building showcases the cultural heritage of Turkey and three Balkan countries (Bulgaria, Greece, Montenegro). The museum features rooms enriched with ethnographic objects and historical documents, reflecting Kırklareli's multicultural Balkan history. Kırklareli Health History House is a museum located in Kırklareli Merkez. This cut-stone building, previously used as the Prof. Dr. Gültaç Özbay Art Gallery, opened as the Kırklareli Health History House on October 29, 2023. The museum exhibits over 800 items, including hospital equipment, old medical tools, needles, telescopes, and examination instruments, reflecting Kırklareli's nearly 100-year health history. Kırklareli Atatürk House, a museum, was built in 2018 in the Yayla neighborhood of Kırklareli city center as an exact replica of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's birth house in Thessaloniki. The construction, led by Kırklareli Municipality and supported by local philanthropists, was completed in a year and a half, opening to visitors on January 17, 2018. The museum displays silicone sculptures of Atatürk's parents, Zübeyde Hanım and Ali Rıza Efendi, as well as items Atatürk used during his visit to Kırklareli.
