About Osman Hamdi Bey Müzesi
The Osman Hamdi Bey Museum is located in the Eskihisar neighborhood of Gebze, Kocaeli, and is the house where the famous painter and museologist Osman Hamdi Bey spent his last years. The mansion, drawing house, boathouse, and outbuildings were built in 1884 according to plans drawn by Osman Hamdi Bey. The building has served as a museum since 1987, and in 2021, it was allocated to the Kocaeli Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism. It is temporarily closed to visitors due to restoration work. It is within 517 meters walking distance of Eskihisar Castle and 559 meters from the Eskihisar Topçular Ferry stop.
