Temple of Jupiter (Silifke)

35 m · The Ancient City of Jupiter Temple, located in the city center of Silifke, is a Roman temple built in the 2nd century AD. Constructed in the peripteros style, the temple originally had fourteen Corinthian columns on its long sides and eight on its short sides. Today, only one of these columns remains standing, with three others in ruins. The temple was converted into a church in the 5th century, and archaeological excavations have been ongoing intermittently since 1980. Within walking distance are the Temple of Jupiter (Silifke) (35 m) and Gazi Mustafa Kemal (598 m).
