Ünye Kalesi
31.1 km · Ünye Castle, located in the Ünye district of Ordu, is a historical structure with an estimated 2500-year history. Situated on a hill 7 km along the Ünye-Niksar highway, it is also known as Çaleoğlu Castle. The castle was built around 250 BC by Pontus King Mithridates II and was used during the Pontic, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman periods. A notable feature of the castle is a tetrasyl rock tomb located ten meters above the ground, adorned with eagle reliefs on its triangular pediment. The castle also contains two tunnels and a cistern.
