Urfa Kapı
Urfa Kapı, also known as Rum Kapısı, is one of the four main gates located on the western side of Diyarbakır's city walls. The Diyarbakır city walls have a history dating back to 3000-2500 BCE and took their current form in 349 CE during the reign of Roman Emperor Constantius II. The gate was built in 1183-1184 by the Artuqid ruler Karaslanoğlu Artukoğlu Muhammed and was repaired by Sultan Mehmet during the Artuqid period. It features symbols of power such as double-headed eagle figures, bull heads, and dragon reliefs. Urfa Kapı is within walking distance of Diyarbakır Grand Mosque (765 m), Ahmet Arif Literature Museum (767 m), and Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı Museum (775 m).
