Büyükkarıştıran Orta Su Terazisi
12.6 km · Büyükkarıştıran Middle Water Scale is a historic water structure located in the Lüleburgaz district of Tekirdağ. This water scale is thought to be part of the historical Byzantine Waterway, dating back to the 3rd or 4th century, which transported water to Istanbul. It is a tower-shaped structure, built with rubble stone and lime mortar, narrowing towards the top. Water scales were constructed to regulate the pressure and flow of water naturally flowing to the city via waterways, ensuring its controlled distribution. The site is within walking distance of Büyükkarıştıran Bridge (695 m), Büyükkarıştıran North Water Scale (122 m), and Büyükkarıştıran South Water Scale (132 m).
