About Sis Castle
Kozan Castle, located on a 400-meter-high hill in the Kozan district of Osmaniye, is one of the oldest castles in Çukurova, with a history dating back to 3000 BC. Built in the shape of an amphitheater, the castle consists of 44 towers and bastions, and features gates connecting its six sections, including the inner castle. The castle also contains cellars and secret passages accessed by 20-30 step staircases, as well as large water cisterns. Inscriptions in Assyrian, Roman, and Armenian languages indicate that Kozan Castle changed hands many times throughout its history. Today, it remains in good condition and is open to visitors.
