Suriye Caddesi
Suriye Caddesi, located in Merkezefendi district of Denizli, is one of the main streets of the ancient city of Laodikeia. This 900-meter-long colonnaded road, extending in an east-west direction, was one of the city's busiest commercial arteries during the Roman period and led to the Syrian Gate. Along the street, there was a sewage system, porticoes, and rows of shops. Wheel ruts are still visible on the street, which was in use until the earthquake in 494 AD and the abandonment of the city in the early 7th century. Suriye Caddesi is situated within the ancient city of Laodikeia, 70 meters from Septimius Severus Nymphaeum and 76 meters from the Central Agora. Wheelchair access is not available.
