The exact date of the caravanserai is unknown, but it is understood to be an Ottoman-era work from the 16th century. Çifte Han was initially conceived as a double caravanserai, but the second one was demolished during road construction. Both caravanserais were built from cut basalt stone. The caravanserai, formerly used for stock exchange purposes, is currently in ruins.

Built in 1683 by Hanilioğlu Mahmut Çelebi and his sister Atike Hatun, the inn is made of black basalt stone. Sülüklü Han got its name from the leeches extracted from the well in its courtyard for treatment purposes.
