Eğil Kalesi
36.8 km · Eğil Castle, located in the Eğil district of Diyarbakır, is a historic site estimated to have been built during the Assyrian period, between 3500 and 1260 BCE. It is situated on a steep rock surrounded by deep valleys on three sides, next to the Dicle Dam Lake. On the western facade of the castle, there is a figure of an Assyrian King and a cuneiform inscription believed to belong to Shalmaneser III. It is within walking distance of Eğil Tacıyan Mosque (232 m) and 326 meters from the Feribot İskelesi ferry stop.
