The Ruins of the Palace of Antiochos, located in Fatih district's Mehmet Akif Ersoy Park, were built in the 5th century by Antiochos, the chief chamberlain of Byzantine Emperor Theodosius II. The palace shows traces of Byzantine architecture and was converted into the Church of Saint Euphemia in the 7th century. Today, the remains of the palace can be seen within the park and are notable for their proximity to the historic Hippodrome. It is 94 meters from the Sultanahmet tram stop, and within walking distance of Hagia Sophia (455 m), Sultanahmet Mosque (255 m), and Sultanahmet Square (135 m).
