Sultan Ahmet Türbesi
136 m · Sultan Ahmet Türbesi is a historic site located in the Fatih district of Istanbul. It was constructed between 1617 and 1619 after the death of Sultan Ahmed I and designed by architect Sedefkâr Mehmed Ağa. The tomb houses the remains of Sultan Ahmed I, his wife Mahpeyker Kösem Sultan, his sons Osman II and Murad IV, and a total of 36 members of the Ottoman dynasty. The structure is notable for its Iznik tiles, hand-drawn decorations, and an ebony door adorned with ivory, mother-of-pearl, and silver inlays. It is within walking distance of Hagia Sophia (341 m), Sultanahmet Mosque (160 m), and Topkapı Palace (749 m), with the nearest public transport being the Sultanahmet tram stop (186 m).
