#1 of 1652 places in Istanbul

The Library of Ahmed III is a historic library located in the third courtyard of Topkapi Palace, behind the Audience Chamber. Considered a significant work of the Tulip Era, it was built by Sultan Ahmed III between 1718 and 1719, replacing the Pool Kiosk previously constructed by Mimar Sinan. The library was established to gather scattered manuscripts within the palace and served only palace members. It is within walking distance of Hagia Sophia (621 m), Topkapi Palace (207 m), and Basilica Cistern (732 m), with the nearest public transport being Sarayburnu Port ferry stop (490 m).
