The Belkahve Atatürk Statue is a historic monument located in the Bornova district of Izmir, on the Izmir-Ankara highway. Commander-in-Chief Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades observed the liberation of Izmir from this point on September 9, 1922. The monument, created by sculptor Prof. Dr. Tankut Öktem, stands 16 meters tall with its pedestal and was completed in 1991. Belkahve is also a 3.5-hectare picnic area covered with pine forests, offering facilities such as picnic units, fountains, and a country buffet. Additionally, the Belkahve Ata Anı Evi, situated at the spot where Atatürk overlooked Izmir, was opened to visitors by Bornova Municipality on September 9, 2016.
