Edward Whittall Köşkü
237 m · Edward Whittall Mansion, located in Bornova, İzmir, hosted the Duke of Rovigo, one of Napoleon's generals, between 1816 and 1819, although its construction date is unknown. The mansion is named after the famous botanist Edward Whittall, and its garden features tulip figures symbolizing Whittall's passion for botany. Throughout its history, the mansion has been owned by the Corsi, Perkins, Barry, Whittall, and Giraud families, and has hosted notable figures such as Lord Byron, Gustave Flaubert, and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. During the Turkish War of Independence, it served as the Western Front Command Headquarters and the General Staff Headquarters. Today, the mansion hosts various events and is within walking distance of the Ege University Natural History Museum (156 m), Yeşil Köşk (430 m), and Ege University Ethnography Museum (127 m).
