The mound is known by this name due to the Akhisar State Hospital, which was built on it and is now demolished. Archaeological artifacts found in the mound have determined that the settlement continued from the late phases of the Late Neolithic Age through the Late Chalcolithic, Bronze Ages, Lydian, Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine periods.

      Dombaycıoğlu Han

      Dombaycıoğlu Han is an Ottoman-era commercial structure located in the Akhisar district of Manisa province. It was built in 1823 by Dombaycıoğlu Mehmet Ağa, registered in 1963, and taken under protection as a cultural asset in 1980. The han, which continued to be used by renting out its rooms starting from 1995, was partially demolished due to neglect over time, but was restored through the initiatives of the Akhisar Commodity Exchange. Approximately 2 million TL was spent for the restoration, and today the han houses seven rooms where exchange members can hold meetings and nine shops.
