About King's Gate, Hattusa
Kral Kapısı (King's Gate) is a monumental gate located on the southern walls of Hattusha, the capital of the Hittite Empire, in the Boğazkale district of Yozgat. The gate is notable for a high relief carving on its inner side, depicting a warrior god with an axe in hand, a sword at his belt, and a helmet. The original 2.35-meter-high relief is displayed at the Ankara Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, with a replica at the gate. Kral Kapısı is one of Hattusha's significant entrances, alongside the Lion Gate and Sphinx Gate. Within walking distance are the Sphinx Gate (609 m), Yerkapı (546 m), and Nişantaş (647 m).
