About Yerkapı
Yerkapı is a historic site located in Hattuşaş, the capital of the Hittite Empire. Dating back to the 13th century BCE, this massive artificial rampart features a 71-meter-long tunnel underneath. The tunnel was constructed using the corbel vault technique and remains traversable today. Yerkapı is within walking distance of Sphinx Gate (105 m), King's Gate (546 m), and Hattuşaş (680 m).
