About Baptistry
This historic baptistry in Selçuk, Aydın, is an octagonal structure built in the 5th century. Its baptismal pool was uniquely shaped to resemble the Jordan River, where Jesus was baptized. The baptistry is part of the Church of Mary (also known as the Double Churches) in Ephesus and is considered one of the best-preserved baptisteries in Asia Minor. It is within walking distance of Ephesus (400 m), the Celsus Library (700 m), and the Church of Mary (11 m).
