About Seven Sleepers cemetery (Ephesus)
Located in Selçuk, Aydın, near the ancient city of Ephesus, the Cave of the Seven Sleepers holds significance in both Christian and Islamic faiths. The cave is believed to be the place where seven young people and their dog, Kıtmir, slept for many years while fleeing persecution for their beliefs. Excavations in past years have revealed a church and numerous graves above the cave. It is within walking distance of Stadyum (614 m).
