About Temple of Trajan

The Temple of Trajan, located at the highest point of the Pergamon Acropolis, was built by the Roman Emperor Hadrian around 125 AD in honor of himself and the previous emperor Trajan. The temple, constructed from marble in the Corinthian architectural order, stands on a 68x58 meter terrace. The colossal marble statue heads of these two emperors, found within the temple, are now exhibited in the Berlin Museum. It is 275 meters from the Acropolis Teleferik - Yukarı İstasyon cable car stop and within walking distance of the Pergamon Acropolis (204 m), the Great Altar of Pergamon (249 m), and the Pergamon Library (75 m).
