About Pergamon gymnasium
The Pergamon gymnasium is a historic site located in Bergama. Built in the 2nd century BC, this large gymnasium was one of the biggest in the Hellenistic world and consisted of three terraces. It served as a center for both physical and intellectual education for young men. The site is 321 meters from the Akropolis Teleferik - Aşağı İstasyon cable car stop and within walking distance of other notable sites such as the Great Altar of Pergamon (480 m), Pergamon Library (652 m), and the Theatre (629 m).
