About Bergama Müzesi
Bergama Museum is an archaeology and ethnography museum located in the Bergama district of İzmir. Opened on October 30, 1936, it is one of the first archaeological excavation museums of the young Turkish Republic. The museum building's design was inspired by the plan of the Altar of Zeus. In addition to archaeological artifacts spanning from the Early Bronze Age to the Byzantine period, an ethnography section added in 1979 displays Bergama carpets and local weaving examples. The museum is within walking distance of İzmir Bergama Museum (45 m), Kurşunlu Mosque (212 m), and Küplü Bath (455 m).
