About Asklepion
Asklepion, located in Bergama, Manisa, was a significant healing center of the ancient world. This historic site, dedicated to Asclepius, the god of healing, was established in the 4th century BCE and gained prominence during the Roman period. The complex featured various structures, including healing water springs, a theater, a library, and sleeping chambers. Access to Asklepion was via the approximately 1 km long covered Sacred Way (Via Tecta), and it is within walking distance of Pergamon (39 m) and the Theatre (73 m).
